I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church at Cenchreae, that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever she may need from you, for she has been a patron of many and of myself as well.

     What I got today from Jesus is: To be a patron of many

     What I received from Jesus today is what I have been experiencing this week. We, a group of Rectors from seven AMiA churches gathering together for a weeks Mission Abbeys' leaders retreat. We have a group of seven brothers and sisters to be with us all time as a prayer team. Three men, all priests and four women. Everyday the four women prepared our breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinners. We were being severed royally. I have learned so much about hospitality because of this group of brothers and sisters. They all came to San Antonio, Texas using their time, money and everything just to serve us so that we can have a blessed time to prepare the future of AMiA to enter into a new chapter. And indeed, we are going to have a new chapter!

     Paul finished the book of Romans with a list of so many patrons, helpers, supporters, workers, colleagues. And, after all they are patrons, helping and supporting Paul to become Paul. In prayers, effort, money and everything you can imagine.

     How can you become a patron of many just as Phoebe? This is the question and invitation Jesus wants to give to you today. 


Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to become a good patron following Phoebe's good example.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
