DAY 203 - I Don't Want to Listen! I Don't Want to Be Healed!

Update  for Leslie Sunday July 29, 2013:
Wow! Leslie came to our 11a.m. service yesterday and received communion. He could eat the communion bread! He can start eating now! Praise the Lord! Thanks for your prayers! God is so, so real! Jesus is Lord!
There will be a thanksgiving gathering at Richmond Emmanuel Church on his birthday, August 23, 6p.m. to 7p.m. All are welcome!

     What I got from Jesus is: I don't want to listen! I don't want to be healed!

     What I received from Jesus today is a common attitude and mistake towards the Gospel. As record in Isaiah 6: 8-10, this is the sad story of human beings.  The message of salvation is always surrounding us that we can hear and we can see. But, we do not and cannot hear and see. Why? We don't want to be healed! Healing is a process most people do not want to start. Just like some people do not want to see a doctor because they are afraid of what the doctor ask them to do. My father died of prostate cancer in just seven months time because he did not go to see a doctor and did not tell anybody how painful he was until the very last moment.  Healing requires people to give up quite a number of things and people do not want to give up anything.

     Luke concludes Acts with this passage trying to tell us that it is because of this kind of attitude and mistake "God's salvation has been sent to the Gentiles". The most important word here is: they will listen!

     Are you willing to listen? Really? We'll see!
     If you are willing to listen, then we will bee healed and God can bring healing to many people through us. Is this healing working now? 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to listen and give up what you want us to give so that we can be healed and many can be healed through our listen and obey.   In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
