DAY 280 - The Lord Is An Avenger

Today's Reading: 1 Thessalonians 4

Please read 1 Thessalonians 4 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from my Devotion on Fire blog:

You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.

that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you.

1 Thessalonians 4:6

What I got today from Jesus is: The Lord is an avenger
What I got from Jesus today is a very serious warning that the Lord is going to be an avenger doing the things an avenger will do. What? How can that be?That's what Paul says, right?

So, what is it about? If you read it carefully, it's all about holiness. It's all about sexual immorality. Then after talking about the sins of sexual immorality, he talks about the second coming of Jesus and rapture. Talking about death and eternal life. We need to be holy to understand and experience that!

Don't forget, the Lord is an avenger!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to lead a life of holiness that we can walk with you to the very end and can taste the sweetness of eternal life.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
