                                                 Golden Verse 金句

as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death.                           Philippians 1:20

Today's Reading: Philippians 1

Please read Philippians 1 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from my Devotion on Fire blog:

What I got today from Jesus is: Christ will be honoured in my body, dead or alive

What I received from Jesus today is an assurance that if we follow Paul's good example, we can get through all kinds of crisis and that Christ will be honoured no matter we are dead or alive.

Is it easy? Not at all.

Just four hours ago I was in our church, Richmond Emmanuel. Johnny Trinh told me that his father may pass away in less than ten days time. Then two hours later, Johnny was admitted to Richmond Hospital because of a head injury on Thursday. For Johnny, it is not easy to get over with his left arm injury also two years ago, then his recent head injury and his father's dying situation. He is still in the ER of Richmond Hospital having some kind of tests. What would you think if you were Johnny? Do you think he can say, "Christ will be honord in my body, dead or alive?" Do you think his 94 years old father can say, "Christ will be honored in my body, dead or alive?" What's your answer? Please pray for Johnny and his father!

There were certain levels of fear happening in those Philippians. Of of the fear was caused by Paul's in prison in Rome. Paul wanted to encourage them so that "they can speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly." (verse 14)

If you are under pressure and crisis, do you think you can speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly? Do you think you can honor Christ with your everything, no matter dead or alive?

Dear Lord Jesus,

Lead us to experience that kind of faith that we can honor you no matter dead or alive. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
