DAY 272 - Imitate Me?

Today's Reading: Philippians 3:12- 4:3

Please read Philippians 3:12-4:3 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from my Devotion on Fire blog:

You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.

弟 兄 們 , 你 們 要 一 同 效 法 我 , 也 當 留 意 看 那 些 照 我 們 榜 樣 行 的 人 。
腓 立 比 書 3:17

Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us.                  Philippians 3:17

What I got today from Jesus is: Imitate me?
Is it Paul's pride saying that? What would people think if you tell people to imitate you?

To answer the questions above, you have to take a look at two sets of situations:
1. Those who were enemies of the cross of Christ. Not to be imitated at all. (verses 18-19)

2. The bitter argument between two women leaders. Not to be imitated. (4: 2-3)

Paul uses his famous golden verse of 3:13-14 to encourage people to focus on Jesus. He tells us we have our citizenship in heaven and should be able to become good examples for other people to follow.

So, our lives need to be transformed to a state that more and more people want to imitate. Are you ready for others to imitate?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to follow you and run a good race for you and that we can be a good example for other to imitate.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
