What I got today from Jesus is: Do not become a stumbling block

Paul is talking about another problem in the church of Corinth. It's about whether Christians can eat the food offered to idols. Paul explains that those food offered to idols has no problem at all. But, the action may cause some people to have misunderstanding and negative feeling and they may become a stumbling block to the others, especially to those who are weak in faith. So, just don't do it for that reason.

Actually there are quite a number of similar things nowadays for Christians becoming a stumbling block. Eating food offered to the idols still is an issue for quite a number of Chinese if their non-Christian family members still offering food to the idols. Or, going to casino just for buffet, playing mahjong and many more.

Paul has given us a good way to tackle with those numerous issues: do not become a stumbling block to other people. Playing mahjong may not be bad, but if some Christians think that you play mahjong is a sin, then it's a sin to them. I do not judge here whether playing mahjong is a sin or not. Anyway, mahjong is a tool for gambling and so far as I know, almost everybody playing mahjong is for gambling, may be just a little money for fun but still gambling. So, why do that?

Let try all our best not becoming a stumbling block to the others.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to try all our best not to become a stumbling block to the others. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
