DAY 199 - Jesus' Micro Discipleship

Update  for Leslie Sunday July 29, 2013:
Wow! Leslie came to our 11a.m. service yesterday and received communion. He could eat the communion bread! He can start eating now! Praise the Lord! Thanks for your prayers! God is so, so real! Jesus is Lord!
There will be a thanksgiving gathering at Richmond Emmanuel Church on his birthday, August 23, 6p.m. to 7p.m. All are welcome!

     What I got from Jesus is: Jesus' Micro Discipleship

     What I received from Jesus today is such a wonderful shock! It's about about Jesus' Micro Discipleship. What? Yes, because Jesus is not talking about four gradual steps of missional locations. He is talking about how we should start to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples from Micro to Macro.

    He is talking about Mark 4: 28, " All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”

    Jesus is talking about how Paul got his vision to fulfill what He says in Acts 1:8. But, Paul's Jerusalem, the micro location is Damascus and not Jerusalem. Jesus is talking about the vision I got four years ago when I started to write my Fuller D.Min. thesis "Micro Discipleship". At first I named that as "MicroMacro Discipleship", and I taught a Master of Ministry class in a Mega Church in Hong Kong, Tung Fook Evangelical Free Church in 2009 using that title. After that I changed to "Micro Discipleship" to stress the importance of the Micro side because everybody are so crazy about Macro, Mega already.      So, where is your Damascus? Where is your Jerusalem? Where is your micro location to start with? Don't start big! Start small, start micro, because that is what Jesus did when He was with His disciples. And, that was what He taught to His disciples. Without Micro, there in no Macro!


Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be able to discern what is the micro location tailor-made for us to proclaim your Gospel and to make your disciples.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
