DAY 197 - Crisis Is Always An Opportunity

Update  for Leslie Saturday July 28, 2013:
Wow! Leslie came to our 11a.m. service today and received communion. He could eat the communion bread today! He can start eating now! Praise the Lord! Thanks for your prayers! God is so, so real! Jesus is Lord!
There will be a thanksgiving gathering at Richmond Emmanuel Church on his birthday, August 23, 6p.m. to 7p.m. All are welcome!

     What I got from Jesus is: Crisis is always an opportunity

     What I received from Jesus today is a secret to extend His Kingdom ministry. When I was having my M. Div. at Nashotah House Episcopal Seminary in Wisconsin 1984 to 1987, I wrote a church history paper and got an "A". It's about how the gospel came to China and the church growth in China. The topic is two words in Chinese and one word in English "Crisis". You can't see anything in the English word but the Chinese word for crisis is "danger" and "opportunity". When there is danger there is always opportunities. 

     Here in this passage Paul had another hearing and by King Agrippa. We know later when Paul was in Rome there were more opportunities for him to proclaim the gospel to quite a number of people connected to the Royal Family. Some people even said it is because of how Paul made his testimony in Rome that in two hundred years later even the Roman King Constantine's wife became a Christian and then the King became a Christian and then everything changed. Christians were no more being persecuted and killed but became respected people.

     Leslie came to our service today and received communion. That crisis has become one of God's mighty work for many people now! Praise the Lord!

     So, next time if you are in a crisis, don't panic, it's your opportunity to glorify the name of Jesus.
    
Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to have a new way to face a crisis and that we can take that opportunity to proclaim your mighty name.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
