     What I got from Jesus is: The power of a fasting church

     The topic I received yesterday was "The power of a praying church". We can see how powerful it can be when the whole church pray. And yet, the percentage of the attendance of weekly prayer meeting in all churches is less than 10% and quite a number of churches do not have weekly prayer meeting at all. When the whole church pray, then things happen in a mighty way just like how Peter was miraculously took out from the prison by an angel.

    But the power of a fasting church is even far more greater. Paul's first missionary journey gave a whole new paradigm to the Early Church as well as the whole Christianity. And, it all started by  a few prophets and teachers worshiping and fasting. You can see that during their worshiping and fasting, vision came, commissioning came, laying on of hands came and Kingdom ministry started!

    Since March 31 this year on Easter Sunday, some of the brothers and sisters of our church(Richmond Emmanuel) started a one year fasting. We have around 30 people joining in to fast for one year. Each one of us takes a slot on a week. I am on Sunday lunch, 2nd and 4th Sundays. I don't know what would happen after one year, I mean March 31, 2014. I am sure something good will surely happen to us because that is Biblical and we are just following a good Biblical example.

    How can you encourage and help your church to be a fasting church? 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be able to encourage and help our own church to be a fasting church.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
