Golden Verse 金句

So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.

What I got from Jesus is: Go to look for your Saul

This passage shows us a lot of things happened after the dearth of Stephen and the severe persecution and fear afterward:
1. Those disciples of Jesus were scattered to further province and cities because of the persecution. In a positive way, we can see that sometimes we really need hardship and persecution so that we can be willing to go where God wants us to go and change what God wants us to change in His own way and not our way. We see that in this miraculous way, more people believed in the Lord.

2. How one person, Barnabas, could give encouragements to the whole church in Antioch. It's so easy to spread discouragements hurting Christians in a church. Can we all be willing to be encouraged and being raised up to be an encourager?

3. How can we follow the good example of Barnabas to find our Saul so that we can be their disciples and mentor and that they can become real Christians just like what happened in Antioch?

4. When Christians can be raised up, then prophets and givers will be raised up as it happened in Antioch.

What I got today is for you to go and look for your Saul following Barnabas' good example to be a disciples and mentor. I have tried my best to be a disciples and mentor for quite a number of people especially that 2 1/2 years with Athan and Vance and then the past four months with Bernie and Garry. You need to start doing that so that God's Kingdom ministry will be extended.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be willing and able to be a good disciples and mentor following Barnabas good example.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
