Today's Reading: Hebrews 4:14-6:20

Please read Hebrews 4:14-6:20 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from my Devotion on Fire blog:

You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.

凡 只 能 吃 奶 的 都 不 熟 練 仁 義 的 道 理 , 因 為 他 是 嬰 孩 ;
 惟 獨 長 大 成 人 的 才 能 吃 乾 糧 ; 他 們 的 心 竅 習 練 得 通 達 , 就 能 分 辨 好 歹 了 。

                                                               希 伯 來 書 5:13-14

for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
                                                    Hebrews 5:13-14

Please click the links to Hebrews 4:1-13

    What I got today from Jesus is: Grow up! Don't leave me!

    What I got from Jesus today is the secret to become a mature Christian. The passage today is from three chapters and all pointing to the superiority of Jesus Christ. With that the author give two warnings:
1. Danger of remaining spiritually immature (5:11-6:3)
2. Danger of falling away from Christ (6:4-20)

    Many Christians think that drinking milk means those simple method we learned when we first become Christians. So, when they think that they need to grow up, they need solid food and they seek for more study and attend courses. But, most of them forget, the real solid food is a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus. Once we leave Jesus to go for more wisdom or  knowledge, we have a chance to get back to the stage of baby again.

    So, what Jesus wants to tell you today is:
Grow up! Don't leave me!
Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be willing to be with you each day that we can truly grow up. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
