DAY 226 - I Urge You, Be Imitators of Me

For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel. I urge you, then, (AA)be imitators of me.

     What I got today from Jesus is: I urge you, be imitators of me

     What I received from Jesus today is a simple way to be good Christians and leaders. So simple that everyone can do. But, so complicated that only a few really do it because of our pride and laziness. 

     Jesus leads me to verse 8 and then to today's golden verses 15-16. What is the difference:
Verse 8: We become kings, and without those Jesus put into our lives to be our spiritual fathers, mentors and coaches who lead us.

Verse 15-16: We need to practice Christlikeness from those spiritual fathers who Jesus prepares for us. We have to be imitators of them.

     Jesus reminds me of how He gave me quite a number of spiritual fathers. Actually each one of them gives me very good model to learn how to be more like Jesus.

     How can you be imitators of your spiritual fathers? How can you be willing to set an example to those who Jesus entrusted to you to mentor and take care so that they are willing to be imitators of you? If you can live out these two questions in your daily life, then you will be richly blessed and many will be blessed because of you. 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be imitators of our spiritual fathers. Help us to be a role model so that other can become imitators of us.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
