What I got from Jesus is: Give out of our wealth or poverty?

Today Jesus gives us a big, big challenge!
All Christians are familiar to today's passage about the widow's offering. Most Christians when reading this again will say, "That's only a special case. Jesus is not calling me to that kind of offering." Do you have the same thought?

But, there is one point most Christians always missed. Do you know what?

The point is not only that the widow gave all she had because she knew that God is the Provider and she should be called to do that. The point is that Jesus says all people give out money out of their wealth but the widow gave out money out of her poverty!

Many Christians are still being stuck on whether they need to tithe. If they have a better and better relationship with Jesus, then they will allow Jesus to change their lifestyle. How to use our money wisely so that money would not control our life should be one of the few things that Jesus would like us to change. But, Jesus is not talking about tithing! Tithing is so basic, nothing to argue about. It's the message I received yesterday in this blog: living out of "give to God what is God's(Mark 12:17) http://bishopsilas2.blogspot.ca/2013/01/day-58-its-all-mine-precious-my-precious.html .

Jesus is talking more than that. To give 10% of what we have which should belong to God is not difficult, because we have 90% of money to spend. But, to give more when you have only a little, out of your poverty is real faith! Real faith comes from real relationship! Remember, God is the Provider, he won't ask you to do things more than you can. When he asks you to do something for him out of your ability, he must have a reason.

I shared with you about a miraculous happening to solve our church last year's $100,000 deficit just a week ago in this blog: http://bishopsilas2.blogspot.ca/2013/01/day-53-believing-praying-fasting.html

I received a vision last January called "Small Drops of Water Campaign". There were quite a number of our people made offerings beyond what we could afford to support this campaign to make the huge deficit to become a $30,000 surplus! My wife and I decided to change our lifestyle to cut all kinds of expenses we can in order to support this campaign. It's not easy to change our spending lifestyle, but it's not so difficult. We are richly blessed in many ways after we started this new lifestyle of more offering since last January. Three weeks ago when Michelle and I talked about whether we should return to the former amount of weekly offering after the campaign, we decided that we won't because this new lifestyle of weekly offering has changed our lives immensely. And, it's beyond tithing and beyond what we can afford!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to understand and to live out a new lifestyle of offering that is acceptable to you and good in your sight.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

**NEW link for the 12th 100 days 24 hours prayer campaign (from December 04, 2012 to March 14, 2013)

The easiest way is to take one hour slot for the whole week. What you need to do is very simple. Choose one dayThe easiest way is to take one hour slot for the whole week to pray for me, my family and my ministry, remembering the ministry of ACiC(ACiC has two Networks: ACiC, Anglican Coalition in Canada and AI, Asian Initiative). You may use the whole hour in prayer or you can still do you work in your office but use as much time as you can to pray and the other time work prayerfully that hour to pray for our ministry. This campaign is also to teach you that you need somebody to pray for you daily. I have been prayed for hourly the past 1,200 days and I have never experienced this kind of peace and protection before. It's just beyond words can express. If I did not listen and obey to Jesus call 1,200 days ago to start this prayer movement, I think I would be pulled into darkness and discouragement already! I deeply believe that this is a way to draw as many participation as we can in prayers. I encourage you to participate. We need you to join us! Trust in the power of prayers!
