English (ESV):

What I got from Jesus is: This one did not renounce all he has
What I received from Jesus today is a new and fresh message to me. Why? Because the parable of the Prodigal Son is so well-known and I preached it hundreds of time.  And yet, today Jesus gives me a fresh revelation.

Yesterday I got a very important topic from ESV version about the word "Renounce". Usually we say we give up all we have. But, to renounce all we have link up with a clearer message following. To renounce everything we have so that we can announce that Jesus is our Lord! Wow! That is new to me yesterday!

Today, Jesus continue to challenge my thought in the same direction. The prodigal son was the one who did not renounce all he has and in fact he did the opposite thing. He claim everything he could have and announce that he was the lord of his own life and indeed he was not able to. Until he lost everything he had(not renounce all he had), he came into his own sense that he could not be the lord, could not take his father's role. And his father "announced" to everyone that he accepted him back to be his son.

Lots of people asked me why do most people became Christians because they faced with some kind of loss and suffering. Why people are so difficult to received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour when they are well off. Why?

Because we are being made in the image of God and all of us want to be God, to be the Boss, the Lord, the one in control. Sad!

Let's admit that God gives us the gifts and power to rule but not to "lord". Jesus is Lord! We can never be the Lord!

We have to renounce all we have in order that Jesus can be our Lord!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to fall into the similar wrong step of the prodigal son to take the lordship away from you. Lead us to be willing to renounce all that we have and receive you as our Lord, Savior and King.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
