Today's Reading: Exodus 20-21
Please read Exodus 20-21 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from my Devotion on Fire blog:

You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.
and said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, lest we die.” Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.”

What I got today from Jesus is: Is God frightening or loving?
What I got from Jesus is a practical question. What do you think? Is God frightening or loving? You need to have a relationship with God before you know whether He is frightening or loving, right?
The respond from the Israelites gives us a clue why there have been so few Christians having a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus. It is not they do not have the time. It is because they do not want to enter into that frightening, unknown and insecure relationship. But, actually, if you have a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus you will surely know that it is the most loving and secure relationship on earth and in Heaven.
But, God is really sometimes frightening because the fear of God is one of the main thing that most people lack in this modern world. We fear of sickness, cancer, earthquake, bankruptcy, ghost, death and almost everything but never fear God. Why?
That's why God gave the Ten Commandments to the Israelites after they experienced His love and power. Yes, God should be both frightening and loving, both justice and mercy. The Ten Commandments is still your guideline for your daily living. Live by that and you have a better chance to have a better intimate personal relationship with Jesus.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be willing to follow the Ten Commandments as the key to be more closer to you and to be in your love and protection. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
