DAY 276 - Sing, Sing Your Heart out to God!

Today's Reading: Colossians 3:1-4:1

Please read Colossians 2 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from my Devotion on Fire blog:

You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.

What I got today from Jesus is: Sing, sing your heart out to God!
What I got from Jesus today is an invitation to sing as good as we can to praise the Lord. Eugene Peterson's The Message translates the last part of verse 16 as "Sing, sing your hearts out to God!"

Actually I used this translate to encourage our congregation to sing as good as they could be last Sunday(REC's service). There are quite a number of important messages in this chapter and is talking about how can we put to death of our earthly nature, to get rid of our evil and bad behaviours so that we can put on the new self and become more like Christ.

If we are truly becoming a new person to be more like Christ Jesus then we will have certain obvious lifestyle changes. One is that we can be able to sing, sing our hearts out to God.

I sincerely hope and pray that when you worship God next time, you can sing, sing your heart out to God.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be able to put to death our earthly nature and that we can be more and more like you and be able to sing, sing out our hearts to you.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
