Today's Reading: Deuteronomy 29-30

Please read Deuteronomy 29-30 and listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ would like to tell you before reading my Spiritual Journal below. If you would like to learn a simple and good way of Daily Devotion method please read my “Count Down 5” from my Devotion on Fire blog:

You may begin with a song to praise the Lord and complete you devotion by singing another praise song.

我 今 日 呼 天 喚 地 向 你 作 見 證 ; 我 將 生 死 禍 福 陳 明 在 你 面 前 , 所 以 你 要 揀 選 生 命 , 使 你 和 你 的 後 裔 都 得 存 活 ;

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,  loving the Lordyour God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”
                                                              Deuteronomy 30:19-20

    What I got today from Jesus is: Why we choose death rather than life?

    What I heard from Jesus today is a personal reminder. Do you know I stopped this "Devotion on Fire 2" blog for 43 days? My last post of this blog is Feb. 11. Why?

    I and our church has been under a severe spiritual attack from the Deceiver due to the discerning of God's call to purchase a land and build our church. Richmond Emmanuel Church has been renting three different venue for the past 17 years and it should be God's timing for us to have our first piece of land - our Promised Land.

    As you know well, any church facing with a building issue would cause misunderstand, division and separation. The past two months have been very difficult for all of us. It is to our surprise that we have a 97% YES vote to make an offer to a piece of land including permission to seek for finance. Praise the Lord!

    Now, today I pick up my feeble feet and start to write this blog again because I sense a strong call from our Lord Jesus Christ to command me to do so. And, I am in Dallas/Ford Worth International Airport waiting to get on board a plane to go home after a two days Anglican Mission meeting here in Dallas.

     Why even Moses could not enter into the Promised Land. You can find the answer here in today's passage 30:20. They did not listen to God's command even God used everything and every effort to love them, care for them and protect them.

     What a waste and how sad it is! And, same situation repeats and repeats in the history of mankind. We know what is good and we need to choose life but we choose bad and death instead!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to follow you, listen and obey to your command and lead as our Lord and King so that we can live peacefully in the Promised Land you prepare for us.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
